Most of us have heard the old saying, “Necessity is the Mother of Invention”. This simply means that a need or problem encourages us to seek a solution to that problem. This is where our story begins. My business partner and I had been on the same trivia team for years. One evening, after our team finished playing, a few of us went out for cocktails. While enjoying our cocktails, I began to notice that while I could hear my ice “clinking” against my glass, I could just barely see it due to its clarity. I brought this fact to the attention of my friends around me, and before we realized what we were all doing, we had begun to take the ice out of our glasses and peer at each other through it. We expected the onlooking bartenders to cut us off at any moment due to our odd behavior.

The curiosity of how someone came to make ice this clear became an obsession for my future
business partner and me. After wasting much time and money acquiring molds and anything else that we thought could reproduce this amazing ice, we finally researched the methods used by large Craft Cocktail Ice companies. This has led us to open Clearly Chilled LLC in an attempt to offer the best quality cocktail ice in Alabama. Once we perfected this aspect of our company, we decided to branch out into the creative business of ice carving. This has been a truly eventful undertaking, allowing us the ability to use our creativity to make custom ice carvings for the private and commercial individuals in our community.
